Obituary for Stormy Tennyson

Stormy Tennyson
Stormy Tennyson

Born on April 22, 1971 in Robinson Township, PA. Your registered name was Lazy N's Storm Cloud, but I called you "Stormy."

I was there when you were born on a rainy, thundering night in an old, run-down barn with your mother protecting you so gently yet so firmly from onlookers. The years went by, and you were sold to people who did not care about you. Little did I know that ten years later, when I got a call about a horse that was suffering from neglect and malnutrition and needed a home, it would be you. You were that little bay foal that I saw being born many years before. I bought you, and you never knew hunger or neglect again. Your mistreatment by humans never diminished your capacity to trust again. You saw me through all of the good and bad times in my life, and you always made me happy knowing that you would be there. Through the 23 years that I owned you, I saw you grow old and gray with dignity, the way that it should be.

This gentle soul loved to give kisses for carrots and apples and loved his stablemate, "Raven."

I was at the barn the night before you died, and I know that you knew how much I loved you. I would sprinkle Holy Water on you each time that I was with you and ask God to bless and watch over you. The next morning, when I got the call that you had passed away, I thought that my heart would break, knowing that the night before was the last time that I would be able to give you a hug and receive one of your wet kisses.

"Stormy," my bay quarter horse, was part of my life for 23 years of his 33 years of life.

Stormy passed away peacefully on May 3, 2004.

My "Stormy," you took a piece of my heart when you died, but you are forever loved and remembered. I know that I will be with you when I pass through the Rainbow Bridge, never to be separated again.

Loved for eternity by your grateful owner, Kathleen Tennyson.
